Guide to Packaging your Device

Please follow the guidelines below to ensure your computer arrives safely to us without any damage. If an item arrives with below standard level of packaging, any claims for damages would be instantly declined by the courier and would void the original valuation of the item.

  1. Packaging Laptops and smaller gadgets
  2. Packaging Desktops.
  3. Packaging Apple iMacs and all in ones.

1. Packaging Laptops and smaller gadgets

  • Use a corrugated strong double walled cardboard box, preferably new.
  • Use a box is at least 5 cm bigger on all four sides of the notebook.
  • Make sure that the height of the box is 10-15cm taller than the height of the laptop or small gadget
  • Even if you have the original box, we do recommend placing that box inside a bigger box.
  • Never use newspaper or shredded paper as packaging material.
  • Whenever possible, wrap your computer in bubble wrap so that there is at least 5cm of padding on every side.
  • Make sure that any accessories are also properly packaged to avoid contact with your computer.
  • Attempt to place your computer right in the middle of the box and covered well on all sides.

2. Packaging Desktop Computers

  • Use a corrugated strong double or triple walled cardboard box, preferably new.
  • If you have the original box for the computer case (for custom builds), these are not strong enough on their own and need to be inserted into a secondary larger box.
  • Use a box is at least 10 cm bigger on all sides of the desktop computer
  • Make sure that the height of the box is at least 20cm taller than the height of the computer.
  • Even if you have the original box we do recommend placing that box inside a bigger box.
  • Never use newspaper or shredded paper as packaging material.
  • Whenever possible, wrap your computer in bubble wrap so that there is at least 10cm of padding on every side.
  • Make sure that any accessories are also properly packaged to avoid contact with your computer.
  • Attempt to place your computer right in the middle of the box and covered well on all sides.
  • To ensure no damage is done to the internal components please ensure there are no loose components inside.
  • Reinstall or install internal packaging to stop the movement of heavy CPU coolers and graphics cards which can cause damage to the motherboard if not done so.

If you do not have the original packaging for your Apple iMac please follow the following instructions clearly as they are very fragile.

  • Use a corrugated strong double or triple walled cardboard box, preferably new.
  • Use a box is at least 10 cm bigger on all sides of the Apple iMac
  • Make sure that the height of the box is at least 20cm taller than the height of the Apple iMac.
  • Even if you have the original box we do recommend placing that box inside a bigger box.
  • Never use newspaper or shredded paper as packaging material.
  • Whenever possible, wrap your computer in bubble wrap so that there is at least 10cm of padding on every side.
  • Please also ensure there is a heavy layer of protection in front of the screen itself to stop the glass breaking or falling out.
  • Place the Apple iMac in the box so that it is in normal standing position with the base at the bottom. Please label the box with a “This Way Up” sticker to ensure box is carried in this way.
  • Please ensure the weight is being held up by main part of the iMac using padding such as bubble wrap and not the stand which can break or bend (see picture above).
  • Label the box as “Fragile”, “Do Not Stack” and or “Glass”

These are recommendations that we use when shipping items, however it is not a guarantee that they will arrive here safely. The more bubble wrap you use and the better quality box you use the more likely it arrives here safely.
